Pot Belly pigs are the "throw away" pets of the 90's. Pot bellies, in fact, pigs in general, are very intelligent
and loving creatures. There is a nice article on pigs on the In The News Page explaining more about pot belly pigs. And
book recommendation on our adoption application page. Become educated on these intelligent creatures.
Females are Sows, Males are Boars. Pigs are very clean animals. They do not like dirty sleeping quarters.
They only wallow in the mud because pigs cannot sweat. Pigs can be housebroken. And pig owners swear they are smarter than
most dogs. They make good pets if taken care of properly. And don't need much food. But we know watermelon and pumpkins
are a favorite treat.
Some of our available pigs are shown below. But of course we have MANY. The adoption fee for ADULT PBP is 35.00. The piglet
adoption fee will vary according to our Vet expenses. Adoption fees do not include transportation.

8/12/07 "Scruffy" info from prev owner: Our experience with her has
been great and I feel very blessed to have been able to care for her for the past 2 years or so. She has great
with animals such as our chickens and cats. She did not enjoy our dogs at first but then they became used to each other
and had no problems. She has been free to roam our propety w no fence and has had no problems w straying too far.
She greets us every morning and when we come down to visit her and has been great with our three yr old daughter. And
on a crazy morning when i am late getting down to feed her i she will come up to the kitchen window and grunt letting
me know that i am late with her food :) She still enjoys being rubbed on the snout! She is pretty much allowed
to do whatever here. Seems to be at a pretty good weight presently.

Abigail, Maggie & Floyd arrived 3/25/06 Neutered
& Microchipped Pot Belly Pigs, owner surrender from same home so it would be nice if they could be adopted together. But
not manditory. Update on Floyd Nov 2007-
Floyd - still doesn't know he is a pig... ever since he has been with us, he stays off to
himself. (he followed me down the isle at our wedding) He has chosen the horse barn to sleep in, in a corner alone,
under a very big pile of hay and straw.. Comes when he is called, and LOVES belly rubs. Greets folks when they enter
the barn (unless it is cold out, then you can find him under his warm pile of hay and straw)
Maggie is by Jennifer Nail.
Abigail is by Gary Kane and Mary Nail

Pig Pig - by Nancy Schaub. PigPig is an older wrinkled gal with a loving heart.
------------
Skinny by Mary Nail Skinny update Nov 07- gaining weight and very friendly. Unknown
age as he is one of the many that we took in from Omonee. Does have a frozen right front leg that would make steps impossible.
Walks all over the farm. When we have students here, he is in the classroom at all times getting goodies and head rubs. Comes
when called and would love a nice indoor, warm place to call home.
-----
Arlo-Arlo is very friendly and was adopted out but he became a
bit nippy with the children so he came back to HH 7/05. He would probably do best with another pig companion
or a single pig with no small children.

FAITH lg white pig arrived 5/12/04
owner surrender as she was eating flowers out of their garden.
MAGIC-neutered male that someone just abandoned at the farm one
day. Hence his name Magic because he just popped up out of nowhere!
Piggly Wiggly-is several years old and neutered by HHRF vet. He
was found in South Carolina roaming the parking lot of a large grocery store - a chain known as Piggly Wiggly (no joke!).
He was quite thin and missing his right ear. He arrived at HHRF on 10/17/04. He
is about 70 to 80 lbs. He is not overly friendly to people so he would probably do best as an outdoor pig with other
pig companions.
CHARLIE- by Cathy & Karl Schmieder from
3/4/08 to 3/4/09 pd in advance, thank you very much.
